England player Declan Rice called Arsenal’s Premier League performances “really special,” despite having one of the youngest lineups in the league.
In a recent interview on Arsenal’s official website, Rice—who cost the club a cool £100 million to sign—gave his thoughts on the team’s development. Rice had previously played for West Ham United.
In his assessment of his first half-year with Mikel Arteta’s squad, Rice outlined the ways in which Arsenal has changed over the previous five years, both on and off the pitch.
He underlined how the club has restored its relationship with its supporters by focusing on young development, investment, and a clear future goal. That has occurred as a result of the club’s unity, faith in the young people, investment, and implementation of a clear plan for their future, according to Rice.
After Burnley and Chelsea, Arsenal has the third-youngest team in the Premier League this year. The Gunners have performed admirably in spite of their inexperience, earning a ticket in the Champions League knockout round and maintaining a commanding lead in the Premier League.
They now have the same number of points as Manchester City and five fewer than leaders Liverpool.
Rice credits the team’s youthful enthusiasm for their achievement. “Horror and excitement.” The will to succeed,” he stated, outlining the benefits of fielding a young squad. “I think it’s really, really special to be doing what we’re doing in the Premier League with a team this young,” he continued.
The midfield player sees even more potential in the team, therefore his optimism goes beyond the team’s present accomplishments. “So many of us still have so much to give. We’re a bunch of incredibly driven athletes who will stop at nothing to achieve our goals,” he continued.
