Borja Mayoral, the striker for Getafe, has made a statement in response to rumours that he will be joining the Premier League in January.
Arsenal was rumoured to have made a £22 million deal for the 26-year-old earlier this week as Mikel Arteta continues to look for attacking reinforcements to help his team’s title challenge.
Mayoral, who came through Real Madrid’s academy, struggled to establish himself in Los Blancos’ starting lineup. Consequently, he joined Getafe in 2022.
Mayoral has been in the best form of his career this season, behind only Jude Bellingham in the La Liga scoring rankings with 12 goals in a Getafe team that also includes Mason Greenwood.
Mayoral played down any possibility of the in-form forward moving to the Premier League, despite reports that Brentford and Fulham are also keeping an eye on him.
