Arsenal and Manchester United are in competition for £50 million Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee.

Victor Osimhen of Napoli and Toney are also on the team’s shortlist, and Mikel Arteta is eager to add another forward to his lineup this month.

Arsenal’s ability to spend in the January transfer window will be limited due to Financial Fair Play issues, therefore the Gunners may have to look for less expensive options.

Zirkzee, 22, is reportedly on Arsenal’s radar, and the Gunners have been keeping a close eye on his progress in Serie A, according to The Telegraph.

Bologna is reportedly willing to pay £50 million for Zirkzee, who signed a £10 million (€8.5 million) contract with Bayern Munich in August 2022.

This season, Zirkzee has seven goals in Serie A, and his physical presence gives Arsenal’s assault another option.
In their agreement with Bologna, Bayern Munich kept a buyback option valued at €22 million (£19 million). The Bundesliga winners also have the option to match any bid the Serie A club receives for the Netherlands Under-21 international.
Zirkzee is likewise admired by Manchester United, who have been monitoring the striker at Bologna.

Meanwhile, Borja Mayoral, a striker for Getafe, has also been linked to Arsenal.
