A struggling loanee from Arsenal wants to go back to his old team

Nuno Tavares

After expressing interest in signing with Olympique Marseille, Nuno Tavares is allegedly open to returning to the Ligue 1 team. The left-back played with Marseille during the previous campaign, when he made nearly 40 appearances across a variety of categories. After returning to Arsenal in the summer, Tavares spent the current campaign on loan at Nottingham Forest.

Nevertheless, Tavares’ loan at Forest is said to have disappointed Arsenal, and they are willing to let him join another team. There is talk that Tavares would rejoin the French team after Marseille sold Renan Lodi, who was his replacement. Tavares may be interested in the possible transfer, according to RMC Sport, and talks between the teams may result in a deal.

Even if things are still unclear, additional information regarding Tavares’ future is expected to surface in the next few days. For the player, moving to Marseille seems to be the best option.

Only Arsenal’s viewpoint

Tavares needs to play to maintain his transfer value, and if Marseille can provide him more opportunities, we should send him to France as quickly as possible to terminate his time at Forest.

However, if Forest’s new manager is willing to play him more frequently, he can stay there.
