A player connected to Arsenal expressed his disappointment upon learning he would not be departing in January.

Joao Palhinha is not likely to be available for Arsenal under Mikel Arteta during the January transfer window.

That is because, according to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, Fulham has informed Palhinha that he will not be leaving this month.

Palhinha is someone Arsenal “really admires,” according to journalist Ben Jacobs, who told GIVEMESPORT in December. Arsenal may try to buy the Portugal international in the January transfer window.

According to Jacobs, in order to complete a deal for Palhinha, Arsenal will need to “find the finances within Financial Fair Play” regulations.

In December 2023, TEAMtalk also revealed Arsenal’s interest in the midfielder, who is regarded highly by Roberto Martinez.

Jacobs claims that Arsenal must “find the finances within Financial Fair Play” restrictions in order to finalise a deal for Palhinha.

Roberto Martinez holds great admiration for the midfield player, whose interest in Arsenal was also disclosed by TEAMtalk in December 2023.
