Jamie Carragher has made a prediction on who would finish higher after a few weeks that have pushed rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur closer together.

Conversely, Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham team has been winning four of their previous six league games and has been progressively moving up the standings.

With one game remaining for Arsenal, the rivals are now tied for fourth and fifth place in the standings.

Furthermore, Jamie Carragher looked reasonably certain about his forecast when he made it today on the “Stick to Football” podcast.

Carragher wasn’t certain that Tottenham would place higher in the end than Arsenal or Liverpool.

The pundit believed that Postecoglou’s team, which is getting better, will be competing with Aston Villa for the last Champions League slot.

Carragher stated during the podcast, “I don’t see Tottenham finishing above Liverpool or Arsenal.” That’s not what I see.

“I believe that Tottenham and Aston Villa will compete for a spot in the top four or five this season.”

According to Jamie Carragher, Arsenal will finish the Premier League much ahead of Tottenham.

Naturally, a lot of Spurs supporters would have been thrilled to accept a Champions League berth during Postecoglou’s rookie campaign.

But the manager’s impressive start has raised expectations; some supporters are still discussing a title challenge.

They shouldn’t be too far off, even though that could have to wait until the following season when Postecoglou has had more time to assemble his team.

However, Arsenal is far further ahead in Arteta’s mission and is prepared to take home trophies.

Given how close they were last year, Carragher’s preference for Arsenal over Tottenham at this point makes sense.

Arsenal’s credentials have been called into question following a string of league losses, but this sounds a bit dramatic.

Along with Gabriel Jesus escaping a major injury, Thomas Partey’s return to The Gunners this month should be major contributing factors.

Additionally, Arsenal may be making place for an arrival since they may now be disposing two players this month.

Having said that, it appears Tottenham may now be pressing for their own addition.
