As the midfielder Hannibal Mejbri leaves Old Trafford in January, Manchester United has decided to loan him to Sevilla.
The Tunisian international is being signed by the Europa League winners as part of their attempt to stay in La Liga, and they have the option to purchase him for €20 million in the summer.

United would have a sell-on clause and a buyback option as part of the agreement. In order to preserve the 20-year-old’s worth in the transfer market, United extended his contract earlier this month by one year, till 2025.

Hannibal will be the fourth player to depart Old Trafford this month; Sergio Reguilon was returned to Tottenham following his loan stint in Manchester, while Donny van de Beek and Jadon Sancho joined Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund, respectively, on loan.

Left-back Benfica is anticipated to purchase Alvaro Fernandez following his recall from Granada’s loan in Spain.

Hannibal has made ten appearances for United this season, beginning the team’s Champions League loss to Galatasaray and scoring his first goal against Brighton. This month, Hannibal also drew interest from Everton.

But without Hannibal, whom United acquired from Monaco in 2019, boss Erik ten Hag feels he has enough options in midfield with Casemiro back to full strength and Mason Mount expected to return soon.
