BREAKING NEWS: Aaron Jones of the Vikings gets a depressing injury update.

Running back Aaron Jones of the Minnesota Vikings is listed as “week to week” due to a hip ailment, per head coach Kevin O’Connell of the team. In the first quarter of the Vikings’ 23-17 victory over the New York Jets in London on Sunday, Jones suffered a hip injury.

“Aaron Jones continues to be evaluated,” O’Connell informed reporters on Tuesday. Based on the preliminary data that we now have, it appears that we have escaped a permanent harm. Right now, I’d say he’s really week-to-week. He will receive treatment this week, and I’ll let you know how he’s doing the next week as we attempt to gradually ease him back into the lineup, getting him involved in practice and determining whether or not to play him against the Lions.

Before leaving the game due to an injury, Jones ran the ball seven times for 29 yards and caught one pass for 24 yards. The Vikings are presently on a bye, but it is unclear if Jones will be ready to play in their crucial Week 7 matchup against the Detroit Lions—a game that will determine the outcome of the NFC North division—after the bye.
