Done: Braves has completed a historic roster move…

Braves make a few more roster changes before their game on Wednesday.

In preparation for their game against the Diamondbacks tonight, the Braves are rearranging their roster once more after doing so over the past few days. After spending a day with the major league team, AJ Smith-Shawver is returning to Gwinnett, while Ramon Laureano is finally being placed on the 10-day injured list due to an oblique injury. The Braves will soon welcome back outfielder Brian Anderson off the injured list and welcome back Dylan Lee following a brief spell in Gwinnett.

It is evident that after an 11-inning game yesterday that burned down the majority of the Braves bullpen, AJ Smith-Shawver was called up in case of emergency. Returning to Gwinnett, he will resume his starting pitcher rehab assignments with the expectation that he will be ready to play for the Braves shortly after the All-Star break.

Weeks ago, Ramon Laureano ought to have been placed on the IL. The Braves had to play down a man because he injured a muscle and hasn’t played in a game since June 26. In his stead, Dylan Lee will give another reliable presence out of the bullpen, and Brian Anderson will add some more depth to the outfield.
