After the Rangers announced the signing of Liam Kelly, Hamza Igamane is “close” to finishing his move to the club, according to Sky Sports. Igamane is from Morocco, and the Bears are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign him from AS Far Rabat. Igamane has been linked to a move for a number of weeks, and as the Belgian overhauls the current squad, he has emerged as a key transfer target for Philippe Clement.

Although there were doubts about Igamane’s availability during preseason because he might play for Morocco’s squad at the Olympics, the Gers have persisted in their pursuit of Igamane [Daily Record, 17 June]. Igamane transfer to begin movement of Rangers strikers Clement’s squad rebuild throughout this transfer window.

The first striker through the door would be Igamane, hot on the goalkeeper’s coattails. The next several weeks should see a lot of action in that area of the field.

Despite leading the Gers in goal scoring in his rookie campaign with 22, Cyriel Dessers’ future is uncertain as many analysts anticipate the team to bring in more offensive players to replace the Nigerian.

Even if Igamane isn’t anticipated to step in for Dessers upfront on a weekly basis, they might have to take a chance on another striker due to a developing transfer to PAOK [Scottish Daily Mail, 26 June].
