After the Boston Bruins were ousted by the Florida Panthers from the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs, speculations about the team quickly began to circulate. Goalie Linus Ullmark is the only player mentioned in the Bruins speculations.
Linus Ullmark was splitting time in 2023–24 after leading the NHL in wins in 2022–23 with 40 wins in 48 starts. Unfortunately, he didn’t play quite as well, and Jeremy Swayman was thought of as his 1A’s 1B.
The Bruins will therefore exert every effort to complete a transaction involving Ullmark prior to the 2024 NHL Draft. Boston is prioritizing dealing their goalie this offseason, according to Fluto Shinzawa of The Athletic.
“The Bruins prioritize moving Ullmark before the 2024 NHL Draft,” Shinzawa noted. Trading Ullmark for futures, as the market initially anticipated, would provide much-needed action at the draft table in Las Vegas for (Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney) and his scouts.
As per Frank Seravelli of Daily Faceoff, the Bruins were on the verge of concluding an agreement with the Los Angeles Kings that revolved on Ullmark. However, it wasn’t decided upon until the clock reached zero, and one could legitimately question if Ullmark’s remarks had any influence on that.
