On Wednesday’s “Get Up” television show, former defensive back for the Pittsburgh Steelers and current ESPN NFL analyst Ryan Clark offered an intriguing analysis on Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin.

Joe Clark of Steelers Depot stated, “I was down in Orlando,” as Clark gave his explanation. “I witnessed the owners meetings, and Tomlin is more excited than I’ve ever seen him be heading into this season. Before [2008], it seemed like he was in the offseason.”

In February 2009, Tomlin led the 2008 Steelers to victory over the Arizona Cardinals in Super Bowl XLIII. Conversely, Clark was a player for Tomlin from 2007 until the 2013 season.

The Steelers have had an interesting offseason, having surrendered 2022 first-round draft pick Kenny Pickett to the Philadelphia Eagles and signed veteran quarterback Russell Wilson to a team-friendly contract. The majority of people think that Tomlin will give signal-caller Justin Fields an opportunity to start from training camp through the preseason after Pittsburgh later acquired Fields from the Chicago Bears for a conditional 2025 sixth-round draft selection.

In free agency, the Steelers also signed Patrick Queen, a great linebacker for the former Baltimore Ravens.

Fields is expected to start for Pittsburgh in Week 1, according to some, and at least one executive believes Wilson may be let go by the Steelers before the regular season begins. Although Clark didn’t give Pittsburgh’s quarterback issue such a harsh assessment, he seems optimistic that Fields will succeed in his new football home.

“It’s not gonna be that Russell Wilson is gonna have to motivate Justin Fields to be anything,” Clark stated. “Justin Fields will realise what it means to be in the same room as guys like George Pickens, a wide receiver, and Najee Harris, a running back, once he passes those six Lombardi trophies What a tight end like [Pat] Freiermuth can be in the backfield. that his potential can actually be realised.”
The Steelers were given +850 betting odds as the last team among the four AFC North teams to win the division as of Wednesday afternoon, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. Their odds of making the postseason are +200.

Despite the fact that the Steelers qualified for the playoffs the previous season, many obviously have low expectations for the team, but Tomlin doesn’t seem to be concerned about what might happen to the team this autumn.
