Before the San Francisco 49ers make their Super Bowl comeback, there is no shortage of sports history and cultural events to take part in here in the Bay Area. On Sunday, February 11, the gold-rushers could tie the NFL record with six Lombardi Trophies if they defeat the Kansas City Chiefs.
Having followed the club through three decades of ups and downs, including their most recent Super Bowl victory in 1994, I say the more the merrier on this gold-plated bandwagon. Here’s a list of 49 things to do before Super Bowl LVIII, whether of whether you’ve seen every 49ers “chip” or this is your first time attending.

Get a tee from Breezy Excursion featuring 49ers icon Steve Young holding the ’94 trophy like he was his firstborn kid, or a mashup of Draymond Green sporting linebacker Dre Greenlaw’s suit.
Turn on the newest 49ers anthem, “Do It For The Bay,” by native Filipino Americans Saweetie and P-Lo.
6. Let’s get wild with this incredibly old rap song from 1982 about the Niners winning the Super Bowl for the first time.
7. Recall the 1991 49ers attempt to alter their logo, which was vetoed by supporters and the media. This was the first and only occasion in Bay Area history when a team was publicly embarrassed into dropping a proposed design. The team never wore the new look following the press conference.
8. Have dinner at Redwood City’s storied Canyon Inn, a 49ers favorite close to the team’s former 1980s practice site.
9. Listen to the last night at Candlestick Park be said by supporters.
10. Stop by Final Final in the Marina District of San Francisco and enjoy a martini while seated in authentic Candlestick Park seats.
12. Listen to defensive lineman Arik Armstead’s podcast, Third and Long, as he talks about his comeback to the field following an injury.
13. Visit Candlestick Park Sports Bar on 3rd Street for a beer.
14. Join Niner Empire, a community-based group that has brought together 49ers supporters virtually since 2006.
15. Take a stroll around Golden Gate Park’s Kezar Stadium, the 49ers’ first home.
16. Grab a pint of golden ale from the Kezar Pub.
17. Read Colin Kaepernick’s graphic novel memoir, Change The Game, which was released by Kaepernick Publishing, the former 49ers quarterback’s printing press dedicated to racial equity and social justice.
